It's Mindfulness Monday!
Congratulations to each and every one of you. You've made it to the last day of the challenge. We hope you take some time today to revel in your accomplishments and show some pride in the progress you have made. Thank you for showing up, whether you logged every day, only logged once or twice, or simply followed along and read the emails. Your interactions with us were what made this all a huge success. Thank you for participating along with us. Take some time today to practice mindfulness. Follow the link below for a guided meditation facilitated by our very own Sam Wilt for Mental Health Month last year. Keep an eye out in the coming days for the announcement of our challenge winners. It's Celebrity Sunday!
Today is the second to last day of our challenge. We've been on a wild ride together! Rather than focus on just one celebrity today, let's honor 52 of them. Follow the link below to People Magazine, where they have featured 52 celebrities who have openly shared about their struggles with mental illness. Remember, mental health is a concern for everyone, no matter what your life is like. Think about it today: how has mental illness impacted your life or the lives of those around you? It's Stress Awareness Saturday!
Today, let's focus on ways you can practice stress management in your day to day life. There are so many different healthy ways to manage your stress. Yes, often we're drawn to ways that are not quite as healthy, but it's important to maintain a personal list of options that you can choose from. Often, mental health and wellness professionals recommend that you have a "toolbox" or a list of options to choose from that is accessible to you in an area where you'll see it. This is often recommended because when your brain goes into a stress-response mode, it's hard to think clearly and logically. Explore the article linked below and consider some ways you can manage your stress. If you're feeling up to it, take the time to write out your own stress management toolbox and put it up on your wall or somewhere else that you'll be able to access it when you need it. https://www.helpguide.org/articles/stress/stress-management.htm#:~:text=Effective%20stress%20management%20helps%20you,and%20meet%20challenges%20head%20on.
